Ken Robertson is a photographer based in Banbridge. Originally from London, Ken has experience working in top end professional Lab’s. This knowledge of film processing and printing, combined with his photography and digital retouching skills make him a highly creative image maker.

Welcome to my photographic journey. It all began during my A level art studies at a local technical college, where I first delved into the realm of photography. The allure of the darkroom ignited my imagination as I watched my initial print materialise before me.

This initial spark led me to specialise in photography and video during my art and design foundation, followed by a HND in Advertising and Editorial Photography at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in 1990. After completing my education, I embarked on my first photography expedition to Egypt, Jordan and Israel, camera in hand.

Upon returning, I began my career in the industry as an E6 processor at a lab in Clerkenwell, London. This experience provided me with invaluable insights into professional photography and deepened my understanding of film and processing techniques.

Driven by a desire to explore and capture more moments, I embarked on an eighteen-month-long journey through India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Returning home, I resumed work in labs, equipped with the necessary tools to process the plethora of film I had shot. Many of these images, primarily captured on Transparency, found their way to Dorling and Kindersley book Publishers.

Over the ensuing years, I honed my craft while working in various labs, collaborating with talented photographers and even having the privilege of processing film for the legendary Don McCullin.

Now residing in Northern Ireland, I've embraced the transition to digital photography and retouching after much contemplation. Today, I seamlessly integrate these mediums to offer a diverse array of imagery to my clients, drawing from my rich background and experiences.
